On the 27th day of July 2018, campers Meilsha Hakima Maniri and Bai Shahana Sabang garnered 5th runner-up in the PSYSC National Science Quiz Bee. The two campers passed the elimination round, along with nine other pairs of contestants, which was held the day prior. Moreover, Meilsha Maniri was entitled as the Top Scorer for the written elimination, making her peers proud. By reviewing books and various study materials,  copious days and nights were spent by the team together with their teacher- coaches Ma’am Omairah YusopMa’am Apasrah Tabujara, and Ma'am Iluminda Abasolo. The subtopics included in the quiz bee were energy production, energy conversion, energy utilization, and information infrastructure in accordance to this year’s National Youth Science, Technology, and Environment Summer Camp (NYSTESC) theme— Synergon: Initializing the Power Protocols. The quizzers scored 6 points in the easy round, 10 points for the average round and 35 points for the difficult round for a total of 51 points.

The team duo might have started low, but they never lost hope. They encompassed all the challenges and hooked the title of 5th runner up at the end. It was an overall great team effort. The Einsteinians, faculty and staff, and their parents are prouder than ever of their achievement. The early morning and late night reviews were definitely worth it and recognized, along with their undying determination and perseverance. Kudos to team AES!
